From my morning devotion:
Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
also:
Matthew 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
As Christians we must be careful of the company we keep. We will never be the people that God wants us to be unless we have proper leadership.
Ephesians 4:11,12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
God wants every one of his followers to be involved with some sort of ministry. It's the church's job to prepare us for that service: first to your spouse, then to your children, then to the local church then possible beyond.
Lord, give us godly church leadership. Give us a willing and pliable heart that will respond to your word and do what you ask. In Jesus name, Amen.
