Morning Meditations: God's Will

From my morning devotion:

Proverbs 7:22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

also:

Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Did you know that God has a plan for us all? It's amazing that he's got a clear plan for everyone else but we live our lives with no aim or goal and think that we're doing his will.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

You see, in the end God's intent is to transform us into the image of his Son. The fool who keeps making the same mistake, hopefully he will turn to God. The drug abuser, who like the dog, returns again to his drugs, maybe someone will tell the gospel to him.

What did Jesus look like? He had a soul winning passion!

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Lord, give us a vision for our life of your will. Consume everything of me that is not of you. Give me a passion to see the lost come to repentance. In Jesus name, Amen.
