From my morning devotion:
Proverbs 20:20 Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
also:
Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Jesus called this the first commandment with a promise. The first 4 commands deal with your relationship with God and you expected to do them without promise. It's interesting that when God starts talking about relationships with other humans, he starts talking about your relationship with your parents.
Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Children of any age should strive to have peace with their parents. Parents of any age should live in such a fashion that will make your children want to honor you.
Lord, help us all to walk after your ways. Give us grace that we might be able to keep peace with everyone possible. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
