From my morning devotion:
Genesis 27:3-4 Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; 4 And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.
also:
Ephesians 6:13-17 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
God knows that in this world we are in for a fight! And sometimes He expects us to do battle for Him before He will bless us.
2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
What we see in the natural world is only a weak indicator of what is going on in the spirit world. We must always have the armor of God on to protect us. We must keep the Word of God in our hands & hidden in our hearts, as this is our only weapon.
Lord, give us grace & peace in the time of troubles. Help us to keep your words in the battles to come. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
