Morning Meditations: Marriage Advice

From my morning devotion:

Genesis 34:9 And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.

also:

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

The devil wants our children: first through daycare, then the public school, and finally onto marriage. He knows that if he can get our child's attention on the things of this world and on selfish love, they will have no time to serve God.

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

It's important that not only you two be believers, but your beliefs should be complimentary. We have this idea of love as a random act, but that's simply not biblical.

1 Corinthians 13:8a Charity never faileth...

Charity, in the KJV, is love in action. If it's something that's completely random, then it can just randomly fail too. Love is a choice.

Lord, help Christians to find believers believers can agree with to marry, so that they can do your will and encourage each other. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
