Morning Meditations: Sanctification

From my morning devotion:

Genesis 35:2,3 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments 3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

also:

Proverbs 18:1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

If God is going to have a people for Himself, we've got to separate ourselves from some things. We've got attitudes, clothing, and jewelry to put away.

1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

It's important that women AND MEN live modestly.

Lord, tell us those things you want us to separate from. We will make the sacrifice. In Jesus name, Amen.
