Morning Meditations: What Really Matters

From my morning devotion:

Acts 11:22-24 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. 23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. 24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

also:

Proverbs 25:3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

Each one of us is building a legacy. What will be said of us one day? "He was a good provider." "She was a loving mother." "He was always fair." These are nice sentiments but fall far short of our potential in the Lord.

Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

Except the Lord be in it, we may as well hang it up. Involve Him in everything! Pray about everything!

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

The more ungodliness there is in the world, the more he is looking for someone someone who will submit their heart to Him. He wants to be strong for you. Help you to live a godly life!

Lord, show yourself strong in our lives. Help us to live lives that seek to please you and be an example to others. In Jesus name, amen.
