Morning Meditations: Salvation: A Free Gift

From my morning devotion:

Romans 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

Now if I give even 1 penny for something, it's not really a free gift, right? Now that you've got that, we can more on.

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Do you see that? God reveals his righteousness in our lives by taking us from faith to faith, not faith to works.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Don't let anyone tell you that you have to work to keep your salvation. You work because of your salvation. If you think about life the other way around, you become proud.

Heavenly Father, take us from faith to faith. Keep us humbly submitted to you. Give us your grace to get through the day. Help us to be an example to others. In Jesus name, amen.
