I'm going to do something a little different for a while. Considering the day we live in, it's appropriate to take a little extra time with the books of Corinthians. We live in a day of denominations and divisions. A day when we idolize our spiritual leaders, put them on a pedestal, much like the Corinthians.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
I'm going to take as long as I need to deal with the doctrinal issues of the day and apply it to modern church problems. It is my hope that through the study of the Corinthians we can come to the truth of the Bible.
Romans 3:3-4 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
Amen! This study will hold up the Word of God as the standard. The traditions of men will be examined and what doesn't hold truth will be discarded. We will let the Bible define it's own terms.
Heavenly Father, help us to unite under your banner. We will hold nothing but your Holy Word as true. We submit ourselves to your command. In Jesus name, amen.
