Morning Meditations: Judgement

From my morning devotion:

Romans 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

also:

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

We Christians should take care in judgement. Lost people can't help but be lost. They haven't put off their sin nature. We are never commanded to stand in judgment of sinners. Jesus judged the people who were supposed to be righteous and loved the sinners.

Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

We must be careful just what it is that we are teaching those we disciple. If we make it harder or easier than the Bible says, we have done wrong.

Heavenly Father, help us to love rather than judge. Help us to be teachers of good things. That we might bring honor and glory to your name. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
