Morning Meditations: Righteousness

From my morning devotions:

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

also:

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

To a perfect, righteous sovereign God, we can never be good enough. All our attempts at being good all come to naught. He sees them all as dirty rags.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Only His righteousness will do. Seek Him out, pray, read your Bible & do what it says. Don't become proud, thinking that you can do it yourself. God will provide for those He draws.

Heavenly Father, draw us to yourself. Help us to put off our own righteousness and seek after you. In Jesus name, amen.
