Morning Meditations: Good & Evil

From my morning devotion:

Romans 16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

God, writing through Paul said that he would would have us wise concerning that which is good. He wants us to know little about that which is evil. How does that look in practical life?

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

What do you think about? Is it things that you can admit and still have a good testimony? We must get control of our thought life! We must consider those things which are positive, true and honest.

Psalm 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

What are you setting before your eyes? What are you looking at? What are you listening to? Could they be qualified as good or evil? What is cleaving to you? What are you obsessed with? I can guarantee if it's not of God, it's evil.

Heavenly Father, help us to cleave to you. Help us to make the hard decisions in our lives. Keep our minds pure and our hearts clean. In Jesus name, amen.
